I have just bought some blanks from the internet from a supplier down it Kent. Some Iroka, Ash, Walnut, and Olive. The results will be shown as soon as finished.  I also use a local supplier called Thompson's  at Snainton near Scarborough for most supplies, and they are the people that taught me turning in the very beginning I used to go every Tuesday evening for a couple of hours, it was great fun, and I learned a lot and made a lot of friends I am looking forward to going back soon because it made a good social evening out also.

I also incorporate the same trip as a fishing trip, because the angling club that I belong to is in Scarborough not far from the wood turning at Snainton, so I can go in my camper to the turning, and then go and get parked up, next day spend a day buy the lake and catch some fish.

They always have a good stock of blanks, and tools for your every need, at Snainton, and they are always ready to give some friendly advice if they haven't got what you want, they will always offer to try and get it for you,  and there prices are very competitive. They often hold wood turning demonstrations at W/ends throughout the year.

I have been on the internet recently, and bought some turning blanks and a selection box of off cuts.

I shall plenty of  wood to work with over the coming months I have bought Yew ash oak cherry beech Iroka pear and many more so there should be plenty of pens, clocks, and bowls of all shapes and sizes made. My latest supplier is a family run business of  Mendlesham chair makers in Suffolk.             Click Link on side to view there site.

I started to turn a small bowl last week out of stock sent from the above supplier in Suffolk, a nice piece of tiger oak it was looking very nice, lovely grain I had turned bottom, and I was turning out the middle when I guess I got a little too excited and ooop's I went right through the bottom. I thought o'h what do I do with it now? Well keep looking and one day soon when I have found a darker wood to glue to the bottom, it will reappear, don't quite know how I will attach it to the lathe to do the new bottom, but will experiment, and see when happens.  Well it was an experiment, but it did not work very well so they both got scrapped.

The Pens that I have mad  over the Christmas period are in my gallery now, and they have a code number to order from for those might like to order some, the price includes P&P.
